Cats and dogs and forgotten umbrellas

Was pouring down that night to say the least.

And from the bus stop, the street just seamed to be

a standstill mass of bright red taillights and irritated fumes.

All the people running late,

with shoes and pants and shirts soaked to their very deep threads.

John C. John finally arrived and rang the bell.

“My gosh, dear John! cannot believe how wet you are…”, his host said,

“…come on in quick and a towel I’ll bring.”

“Thanks, my friend”, John sighed and frowned and also said,

“…were cats and dogs that rained over me and the rest.”

Same night, same traffic, same disturbing rain.

Jack C. Jack finally arrived and rang the bell.

“My gosh, dear Jack! cannot believe how wet you are…”, his host said,

“…come on in quick and a towel I’ll bring.”

“Thanks, my friend”, Jack sighed and smiled and also said,

“…forgot my umbrella but last time it is.”

A matter of perspective, a matter of accountable self.

A bite for thought for the stormy times for sure.
